Best of The Web 2008!!!

featuring:

Zachary Amendt, 24, is a former newspaper reporter and a resident of Coachella, CA. His debut hsort novel, Onset of Trembling, was published in 2008 by No Record Press. His literary influences include James Salter, Cesare Pavese and Elizabeth Hardwick.

Jenny Pritchett, the former managing editor of Fourteen Stories, is an MFA candidate in creative writing at San Francisco State University.

The Best of The Web print anthology compiles the best fiction, poetry, and nonfiction that online literary journals have to offer in an eclectic collection in the manner of other broad-ranging anthologies such as The Pushcart Prize anthology, The O. Henry Prize Stories, and Best American Short Stories. The Best of the Web anthology will be the first comprehensive print anthology to represent the vast array of contemporary online literature on an annual basis, bringing the world of web journals to a greater audience. Nathan Leslie, Fiction Editor for The Pedestal Magazine, Editor-in-Chief of The Potomac, and the author of five short story collections, and will serve as the series editor.

Species, a magazine dedicated "to the preservation of disciplined individual minds in an era of spiritual stagnation, cultural nihilism and pay-per-view warfare" is coming to Dog Eared! Publisher and editor, Joe Donohoe has promised us an exiting line up, including Jon Longhi, Jennifer Fox Bennett and Charlie Getter. Expect an evening of dangerous fun.
